Promposal

Most everyone knows what a promposal is. If you don't, sux. Look it up. The following is a list of promposals that have been performed at TIP (may also be referred to as TIPromposals). Please add any other TIPromposals you have heard of or participated in. You may also add ones that you have never tried, but would make great (and easy. And cheap.) promposals at TIP.

  • The Holy Gryle asked each other at after dinner meet with TAs time
  • Timmy got all dressed up in a suit and asked Tenley with jewelry and cute-ness

Term II

  • James to Cat - Cat on the balcony, James (with other fourth years) held signs that spelled out "PROM?" from the lobby below the balcony
  • Tanner to Hana - Tanner's group had just finished performing at TIPSync, Tanner took the mic and asked Hana, who was in the audience. (It was cute.)
  • Tyland to Carson - Tyland stood on a chair during lunch at Snelling. He tapped a glass to call the attention of everyone, but he shattered the glass. The shattering of the glass was just as effective as tapping would have been. He promposed, and Carson said yes. The TIPsters were laughing, but the Snelling staff was less than happy.

Term I

  • She was led by he friend down the hallway. On the way there, she went under a human bridge. At the end of the bridge, her boyfriend was there with a bouquet of real roses and candy with a poster that said "Tip Prom?". She said yes. Video Here
  • I just knocked on her door and asked her. She said yes and we had a great night.

Term II

  • I made a paper rose and gave it to her in front of the whole cafeteria (She said yes!)
  • Christopher Tate TIPromposed to Katie Hitchcock in a legendary way: via a TIPWiki page. This particularly suits his style because of the sheer number of times he edited or referenced the wiki across Term 2 - 519! His TIPromposal to her (which she accepted in a very TIPunny way) is available for reading here: Christopher Tate's Perfect (?) TIPromposal. Note that this TIPromposal has been officially designated a Legendary Promposal by fellow TIPsters, an honor they are both pleased to share.

Term 1 (Unknown Year)

Some people got ice cream cones in the place of rings, got on one knee, and proposed.

Other

This is the place for promposals that you've never actually seen at TIP (or at all), but would be hilarious/dangerous/NTP/maybe actually usable.

So I had an idea. When they are playing the song "Shut Up and Dance", you go and say hi to your crush right before that line. If your crush is singing along, and if you time it right, they will look at you as they yell "Shut up and Dance with Me!!!" Then you could go along with it and hang out with them for the rest of the dance. You will also have something to make small talk with later. It will definitely make both of you laugh!

I suggested to a TIPster named Teddy that he should dress up in a bear costume and ask a girl proposing that he would be her Teddy Bear. He then replied, "I can't see a universe where that doesn't work."
